“I knew Jacob wanted to run a restaurant,” Stewart says, “and he, Cindy, and I shared the same love for Southern dishes. We all like good food that offers comfort and flavor, so we decided to create a really different restaurant experience!”
In fact, if there was one thing the Penicks all agreed upon from the beginning, it was to be “different”. Stewart especially wanted absolutely everything to be unique, from curved beverage glasses (“easier to hold and interestingly different”, he says) to a handy little piece of paper (“we welcome families and often there is a need to remove gum before the meal”, Stewart explains). Even diners having a business meeting find convenient note pads for jotting down those mega merger and acquisition details!
The overall Terrace experience begins as soon as you walk through our doors. As you navigate through our lovely restaurant, you’ll notice cozy decor filled with rich woods, earth tones and custom paintings and artwork. The impeccable attention to detail shows in our selection of unusually-shaped dishes, curved glasses and dinnerware and unique touches placed throughout the restaurant. We aim to create an ambiance of warmth and relaxation in a casual, yet classy, environment for everything from catching up with friends and family to romantic evenings out.
Our team is hand-picked to enhance your experience at Terrace by providing warm, quality service with a smile. Our hostesses, waiters and waitresses, chefs, bartenders and management are happy to offer recommendations and assistance. Our goal is to create the perfect dining experience for each of our guests.
Although our main goal at Terrace is to provide excellent food and service to our customers, giving back to our local community is also very important to us.
We support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and give back to local area charities in the neighborhoods we serve. Some of those charities include the Big South 5K, local community schools, the annual Jewish Film Festival and the HeartBright Foundation.
